After days of wandering, Hou Yi arrived at the palace of the Queen Mother of the West, also known as Xi Wangmu. She was known for her wisdom and power and was said to posss the elixir of immortality. Hou Yi pleaded with her to give him the elixir so that he could save his people.
Impresd by his sincerity and determination, the Queen Mother handed him a small vial containing the elixir. However, she warned Hou Yi that only one person could consume the elixir and become immortal. Hou Yi knew that he had to make a difficult decision – should h
e drink the elixir himlf and live forever, or should he u it to save his people from the scorching heat?
After much contemplation, Hou Yi decided he would not drink the elixir. Instead, he returned to his people and climbed to the highest mountain, ready to shoot down the sun. With his powerful bow and arrow, he aimed carefully and relead the arrow. The arrow soared through the sky and struck the sun, causing it to dim.
From that day forward, the heat lesned, and the earth became cooler. The people rejoiced and thanked Hou Yi for his lflessness. They admired him for choosing their well-being over personal immortality.
However, not everyone was grateful for Hou Yi's actions. The rentment grew in the heart of a wicked and jealous man named Feng Meng. He plotted to kill Hou Yi and steal the elixir of immortality for himlf.一个叫做家的地方
One day, when Hou Yi was away, Feng Meng broke into his home and demanded the
elixir. But Hou Yi's wife, Chang'e, did not want the elixir to fall into the wrong hands. In a desperate attempt to safeguard it, she drank the elixir herlf.
