  Good morning, ladies and gentlemen!
In the year 1998, a company called Tencent was founded in Shenzhen—the Chine window to the world in South  launched its first internet product –the OICQ, and QQ in brief in China market. For my generation, signing up for a QQ account, logging in, and chatting with friends became a prevailing fashion. A flashing portrait of penguin at the right bottom of desktop is a unique feature of my generation. That is also my first experience with the Internet. How amazing it was!
Today, as of December XX, there were about  billion net citizens in China, and the Internet u rate across the country was 48%. This means half of us Chine are involved in a connected world, and we are becoming the true global villagers. The most influential Int
ernet companies in China—Baidu, Alibaba and Tencent have been forming the strongest BAT that hits every corner of our daily life. How does Internet impact us today Is there any negative aspect I try to briefly answer the two questions in my talk today.
    1. Advantages of Internet
Get access to  internet is a vast ocean of information. Anyone, anywhere with an internet connection can find out just about anything in just a matter of conds. This even extends out towards various levels of formal education, such like distant education, MOOC, the Massive OpenOnline Cour in detail.
Get new ways of shopping. Another great benefit of the internet is the ability to find just about anything you could want and even some things you might never have known existed for purcha. With a few simple clicks someone can buy everything from food and groceries to a car. Now we even have a special festival called “double eleven” which means November
11th. In that day, customers can buy goods with lowest price via the e-commerce
  platform—Taobao.
Communicate with others on a global  like the original u of the Internet, communication across great distances is achievable in conds. We can instant message allowing for direct communication or email someone a message for them to receive upon logging into their account.
  2. Drawbacks to the Internet
Create new possibilities of  like identity theft, privacy leaks, cyber bulling, and so on are all a result of this wired technology.
Get loss of privacy: If you u the Internet, your personal information such as your name, address, and so on can be accesd by other people.
Pornography: This is a very rious issue concerning the Internet, especially when it comes to young children. There are thousands of pornographic sites on the Internet that can be easily found and can be a detriment to letting children u the Internet.
  3. Conclusion
The Internet as a whole is a like any other resource. How it is ud all depend on the people using it. Much like a hammer, you can build a hou or u it to commit a crime. T
his does not of cour reflect back on the hammer itlf but how it is ud. In the ca of the internet, it is a little bit more complicated. While it can and is often ud for good such as rearch and bringing people together it also is ud for many illicit purpos.
  That is all, thanks.

    Dear teacher and classmates:
Good afternoon. I’m Eva, my number is 39.
I am very glad to say something here. My topic is the u of Internet innovation reading.
As we all know, now is the era of the Internet. The reading is a fine tradition of the Chine nation. Due to busy work and other reasons, modern people reading less and less time. How to u the Internet to innovative way of reading to retrain people's reading habits are both a challenge and an opportunity.
Let me give you an example. Recently my aunt pregnant, they do not have time to do prenatal care, reading it to the baby. My uncle was a judge often work at night, my aunt is a university teacher. My aunt wanted a way to download the prenatal music, prenatal stories and other prenatal material on the phone, when my aunt to do houwork, correcting homework, she can always play to the baby listen to stories or music. Even my grandfather said, the Internet is good, that is practical. It can save more time in reading to read more books.
There are many similar examples. As long as we are willing, we can anytime, anywhere enjoy the Internet has brought us pleasure reading.
I finished the speech. Thank you for listening.
  Internet Change Collage life
When it comes to internet age, many thing goanna be changed, such as the ways to knowing news, the way to community, the way to shopping and so on, at the same time, it also changed every aspect of students’ college life.
Now, our college students have many ways to study except listen the teacher said, we c

The internet brought us so many benefits, does it mans it haven’t any disadvantage Exactly not, it is so obvious that so many college students have damage for it. There is a example, a iner high school student was eolled by Tsinghua University in a high scores but after 1year he was dropped out by the university, why The reason is sample, after he stepped into college he began high on or suspected to addicted to web game, he started to be truant, violate the college rules, finally, he failed many cours, and the university didn’t forgive him anymore. There are lots of other stories like this one, becau of internet, college students had to give up their college life. What makes the unhappy things happened In my opinion, the main reason is that under the Chine education system, every student is strictly surprid by their parent’s, the teachers and school before college entrance examination, they have little freedom. After they go to the college,
the parents left them alone, the teachers started to give them enough belief, so they can do everything they want include surfing the internet without control
Even so we still .shouldn’t give up our right study life, we shouldn’t forget the reason we spend extra 4 years in college: we need more uful knowledge, so that we can have a good job, a good future.
Internet is a rapier, it can help you gain more ,it also can make you lo more, it leys on what will you choo.
Internet for College Students
The Role of the Internet for College Students with the development of our society, Internet has become more and more popular. Nowadays, for our college students it has become the basic tool not only in common life but also in study. we can arch on Internet, this will save our most time, at the same time, we can also gain more information.
If a computer can not connect to the Internet, to some extent, it is  me, or to students, Internet is the most basic tool to check school's notifications, find out our cour, get to k
now our scores in exams and do many other things. If there is sth wrong with the Internet one day, i wonder what a mess our life will be. Moreover, we can communicate with our families and friends, it is a cheap and easy way. Internet is playing an imoportant role in our college life and make our life easier. Through Internet, we can broaden our horizon, we can know many things that occur in far place.,we can study by Internet. We can also know many things that we can not reach.  Certainly, there are more to say about the advantages that Internet has brought us. For example, thanks to the Internet, we have a chance to broaden our horizon. We can have access to resource from all over the world. Money and time are limited for college students, but Internet has provided us a perfect way to know and understand the univer and the society.  There is one thing i would like to emphasize, which you may have been aware of, that is the opening class, provided by many famous universities either in china or in foreign countries. College students are free to study any lessons, if provided, but not be limited by which university they attend. Everyone can gain knowledge so long as he wants to.  In order to get better education, many students choo to enter a university far away from home and can only go home tw
ice a year. In this ca, they can chat with their parents.  To conclude, Internet plays an important role in our life and make our life easier and more colourful.
So it can occur to us that we cannot leave Internet.
A group of scientists announced Thursday what they say is the discovery of remains from an early ancestor of human beings.
Bones from the species were found two years ago inside a cave at a United Nations World Heritage Site, near Johannesburg, South Africa. The South African government has named the area the “Cradle of Humankind” becau of its rich collection of ancient human-like remains.
The scientists are calling the new species, Homo naledi. The word naledi means “star” in South Africas Sesotho language.
Fossils of a newly discovered ancient species, named "Homo naledi", are pictured during their unveiling outside Johannesburg, Sept. 10, XX. REUTERS/Siphiwe Sibeko
The scientists reported that about 1,500 bones have been recovered from the cave. The
y said the bones come from at least 15 individuals. The team reported its findings in the journal eLIFE.
Lead scientist Lee Berger works at the University of Witwatersrand. He said the discovery “was right under our no in the most explored valley of the continent of Africa.” Mr. Berger spoke to reporters Thursday in Johannesburg.
“This is a great moment for us. It is a moment that was perhaps two years in the making. For some of you who may follow our adventures since November of XX. But in fact, it is 90 years in the making: 90 years of exploration here in South Africa for human origins.” The scientists said the newly discovered species Homo naledi probably stood up straight when walking. They said a normal adult stood about  meters tall and weighed about 45 kilograms.
The rearchers described the hands and feet of the new species as human-like. But they said the ribs, shoulders and pelvis were clor to other early ancestors than to tho of modern humans.
The Associated Press reported that Mr. Berger said his team is not claiming that Homo
naledi was a direct ancestor of modern-day people.
The rearchers believe neledi developed between  million and  million years ago, but the bones might be younger than that. The team said dating the bones is one of their projects.
Also unclear is why the bones were in a hard-to-reach part of the cave in the first place. Scientists wondered whether others could have placed dead bodies there in a kind of behavior rarely found in early humans.
Biologists from Boi State University have been making noi in the forests of the western American state of Idaho. They are making noi to study the value of quiet in nature. They want to know how people and animals react to noi pollution.
The rearchers placed outdoor speakers on the side of a half-kilometer-long part of a road in the Boi National Forest. For two years, they played the sounds of passing cars through the speakers. Professor Jes Barber of Boi State University says they found the sounds caud migratory birds to flee. The birds also failed to gain weight.
Recently, rearchers played sounds of machines that are ud to remove natural gas from the ground.
This is one of six loudspeakers mimicking natural gas well field compressor noi at study sites on Idaho's Snake River Plain. (VOA/T. Ban)
That sound is heard in natural gas fields throughout the American West.
Professor Barber says the experiments are designed to help rearchers learn the effects of noi pollution on birds, incts, bats, plants and people.
"We are testing the idea that the things are coupled -- that as the soundscape gets louder, wildlife suffers. But that also feeds back on to how much people get out of that experience, how much they value it, and thus how much they are willing to protect that same place."
The rearch team also studied a group of volunteers who watch birds for fun. Mitch Levenhagen is a graduate student in the rearch team. He measured how much
the artificial noi lesned the ability of the birdwatchers to identify recorded bird songs. He recorded eight songs in the noi condition and eight songs in the quiet.
He then repeated the experiment without the artificial noi. The birdwatchers were happy when the noi machine was shut off.
The birdwatchers said the artificial noi affected their ability to identify bird sounds more than they thought it would. Birdwatcher Jim Lyons said the experiment caud him to value quiet more.
The whole thing has been ear-opening, shall we say. To be part of this is very stimulating, very interesting. I am going to think about it from now on."
Volunteer Janice Engle said she, too, likes the quiet.
"I moved out of the city to a little place in the country where I wanted it to be quiet. I greatly value that. It is hard to find tho places more and more. There are lots of ways
to mitigate sound. But it istrade-off. There is always a cost. And it comes down to people
's values. What do we value more."
The National Park Service is paying for some noi pollution rearch. The federal agency is also examining other ways to reduce noi. They include putting new surfaces on roads. And they are creating quiet areas with signs telling visitors to turn off their mobile phones.
Next year, Mr. Levenhagen and Professor Barber will go to Northern California to ask visitors at Muir Woods National Monument and other parks how they feel about noi.

"Why we are learning this is to be able to cure the people who are innocently being attacked by people who know computers and to protect their data and information from getting out to the open."
Kenya is listed as one of the countries most likely to face cyber-threats. Kenya's Ministry of Information and Communication says that, in XX, the country had 31-million urs of mobile devices. It adds that 13 million others ud the Internet.
Cyber-crime is estimated to cost the world economy more than $500 billion a year.
The African Union is taking steps to fight cyber-crime. Its members created the AU Convention on Cyber Security and Data Protection. Yet the agreement has yet to be approved by a single country.

  Internet Civilization
  By Ma Anyuan
Good afternoon, ladies and gentleman! First, I’d like to express my gratitude for being invited here to prent my topic, which is "Internet Civilization".
Last year, a mini-movie hit the Internet. It tells a story of an ordinary girl who once behaved not well in the bus. Someone took the video of what she did and published it on the Internet. The next day, her behavior was known to the world. She was condemned by everyone, whether strangers in the virtual world or her real world colleagues and friends. Not able to bear all this blame, she finally suicided. This tragic story reprents the violen
ce of the Internet from a unique perspective, and it aris people’s thinking on the civilization of the Internet.
Nowadays, with the rapid development of the Internet, every ur can have access to the instance news in a quick way and have no difficulty in giving their own opinions on the Internet. Nevertheless, it is the unlimited "freedom”, in other words, the lack of supervision, that brings the hidden trouble, or potential crisis to the Internet. As they are not constrained, people can publish speeches without limit, resulting in many irresponsible speeches on the Internet. Some of them are harmless, but others aren’t. The belief between social members, the social order, and even public curity may be verely damaged.
But even more terrible is that some people make up rumors to attack others through the Internet. The most famous example is that, in XX, a well-known Korean female star hanged herlf in her apartment becau of the rumors from the network. This incident shocked the world. But sadly, the death of this poor actress didn't stop it. Today, we can still read the news about the Internet violence from newspapers from time to time.
The violence of network is much more harmful than the body violence. Wrong rumors can thoroughly destroy a person’s mind. Whoever spreads rumors ought tobe condemned without mercy, for he is just like a killer who is out of responsibility. In order to civilize people’s behavior on the Internet, laws should be made to supervi the manipulation. But more importantly, every social individual should come together to fight against the Internet violence. If everyone can say no to rumors, and can report them to the police in time instead of spreading them without thinking, it'll make a big difference, and the harmony and civilization of the Internet world will be on its way.
    Thank you very much.
