One day,a little monkey is playing by the well.

An older monkeys runs o*er, takes a look,and says,

And olderly monkey comes o*er.

He is *ery surprid as well and cries out:

A group of monkeys run o*er to the well .

They look at the moon in the well and shout:

Then,the oldest monkey hangs on the tree up side down ,with his feet on the branch .

And they join each other one by one down to the moon in the well.

Just before they reach the moon,the oldest monkey rais his head and happens to e the moon in the sky,

He yells excitedly “Don’t be so foolish!The moon is still in the sky!”

Many years after recei*ing my graduate degree, I returned to the State Uni*ersity of New York at Binghamton as a faculty member. One day in a crowded ele*ator, someone remarked on its inefficiency. I said the ele*ators had not changed in the 20 years since I began there as a student.
When the door finally opened, I felt a compassionate pat on my back, and turned to e an elderly nun smiling at me. "You'll get that degree, dear," she whispered. "Per*erance is a *irtue."
