Step 1 Revising the usage of subject in a ntence
T asks Ss to revi the usage of subject in a ntence.
T: The most common subject can be expresd by nouns, pronouns, numerals, infinitives, gerunds, etc. For example:
1. The univer is entirely made up of different kinds of matter.
T: “The univer” is the noun as the subject.
2. To e is to believe.
T: “To e” is the infinitive as the subject.
3. Driving a car to Beijing took longer than I expected.
T: “Driving …” is the gerundial phra as the subject.
【设计意图:理解主语从句首先理解主语,所以从做主语的成分入手,自然地引出主语从句。】
Step 2 Exploring the rules 北京地铁交通图
T asks Ss to go through the part A on page 20 and find the ntences with subject claus.
T: Open your books at page 20 and read through the text. Pick out the ntences with subject claus in the text.

Step 3 Working out the rules
