Conrvation Volunteers for Endangered Animals
Overview
The program in Australia is meant for all tho animal lovers who want to volunteer abroad for a meaningful cau and contribute effectively towards the well-being of the native animals. Being a volunteer, you’ll get to work at a rescue center or a shelter, which has lots of animals in care at any given time.
Program Requirements
Volunteers must be 18 years or older, with an open mind and a flexible attitude for workin
g in a new and different environment. The program is open to all and you do not need any necessary qualifications to join it. Participants should be prepared to work outdoors and should be fit and healthy. Volunteers must note that this is a hands-off project and you are not allowed to touch animals unless given specific permission.
Volunteer Roles & Responsibilities
As a volunteer for this program, your daily activities may consist of:
☆preparing food for the animals
☆cleaning the animal enclosures (围场)
☆keeping the project grounds clean and tidy
During Your Free Time
Volunteers can choo to spend time in Gladstone or explore some of the interesting things to do in the surrounding areas. The Great Barrier Reef is a good choice for volunte
ers to do a dive cour or a liveaboard (船宿). Only minutes from the project location is Gladstone’s famous natural landmark — Mount Larcom. It is commonly referred to as the “lion mountain” becau it looks like a lion and a lioness which are facing each other. At the heart of the city is Goondoon Street, where volunteers can explore the Library Square, the site of the city’s monthly produce and arts and crafts market.

A year ago, I decided to create a more environmentally friendly kitchen, focusing on reducing the single-u products such as plastic bags and paper towels. I’m not going to sugarcoat my experience. It takes commitment and willingness to change long-held habits.
