Section 1 Interpreting at a Banquet?
⼀、背景知识：
在外事⼯作中，涉外秘书除了要做好本职⼯作外，还要经常兼职做⼝译，有时还要为领导写不同场合的演讲稿或开幕词或闭幕词。学习和掌握⼝译知识和演讲辞写作知识就成为合格秘书的另⼀门必修课了。
⼝译是⼀种通过⼝头表达形式，将所听到的（或读到）的信息准确、迅速地由⼀种语⾔转换成另⼀种语⾔，达到顺利传递与交流信息的交际⽬的，是⼈类在跨⽂化、跨民族交往活动中所依赖的⼀种基本的语
⾔交际⼯具。最常见的⼝译形式为交替⼝译（alternating interpretation）和同声传译（simultaneous interpretation）。
交替⼝译是指译员同时以两种语⾔为操不同语⾔的交际双⽅进⾏轮回交替式⼝译。同声传译是译员在不打断讲话者演讲的情况下，不停顿地将其讲话内容传译给听众的⼀种⼝译⽅式。
衡量⼝译质量的基本标准是准确、流利和迅速。⽆论是做哪种⼝译，事前都要做好准备⼯作。译员应尽可能多的了解讲话者的讲话内容、发⾳习惯，以便顺利完成⼝译⼯作。

Dear Mr. Jones and my dear colleagues:
We are very happy to have Mr. Jones and his party here with us tonight.
Confucius onc e said, “What a joy it is to have friends coming from afar!” Mr. Jones is an old friend of ours. He and his party come from the other side of the earth, so our joy tonight is beyond expression.

⼀、背景知识：
演讲是在公开场合，向较多的听众，以⼝头语⾔表达为主，以⼿势情态表达为辅，就某⼀问题或事件发表⾃⼰的意见或阐明道理、抒发感情，从⽽影响和感召听众的⼀种⼝头独⽩。
演讲有五⼤功能：使⼈知道、使⼈相信、使⼈激动、使⼈快乐。
演讲有三种表现形式：
1．命题演讲，即由别⼈拟定题⽬或演讲范围，并经过准备后所做的演讲。命题演讲的特点是：主题鲜明、针对性强、内容稳定、结构完整。
2．即兴演讲，即演讲者在事先⽆准备的情况下就眼前场⾯、情境、事物、⼈物临时起兴发表的演讲。如婚礼祝辞、欢迎致辞、丧事悼念、聚会演讲等。它的特点是：有
感⽽发、时境感强、篇幅短⼩。它要求演讲者要紧扣主题，抓住由头，迅速组合，
