Brian Horberg was about 9 years old when he left a lasting impression on California-bad author Glenn Palmedo-Smith. The two met in a Danbury, Connecticut Stop and Shop in the 1990s.

自画像“I couldn't believe it!” Palmedo-Smith says when recalling he found out that Brian was a pianist. “This kid’s got a spark (才华). It was greatness.”
On that fateful day in the 1990s, Palmedo-Smith says he had stopped at the store for some food when he was approached by Brian in the checkout line. “He was so different,” Palmedo-Smith recalls. “I just thought, ‘This kid is special.’ ” Despite only being with Brian for 90 minutes, Palmedo-Smith says it was clear that once Brian started playing and mimicking (模仿) the keyboard’s pre-programmed songs, he was “a natural”.
Brian's talents only incread from there, said his Life Skills Instructor Mary Casagrande and today, now 30, he owns his own music business. “He has perfect pitch (音准) can now master a new song after hearing it only two or three times, and knows nearly 300 songs by heart. It's hard to get him to practice becau it comes so naturally to him," Casagrande explains. “Currently, Brian performs at 13 local nior centres and nursing h
omes four times a week and is even booked through 2023 about which Brian feels incredibly lucky."
