Britain is the sixth fattest country within the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). For more than a decade, veral Conrvative prime ministers have declared obesity (肥胖) a national emergency and promid to take thorough action, only to produce disappointing plans that fall far shy of what is required.
It should not have taken a dia like COVID-19 to ram_home the awful conquences of the U.K.’s obesity. Obesity, as well as its associated conditions of diabetes (糖尿病) and high blood pressure, is strongly associated with a higher risk of death from COVID-19 and will have undoubtedly been a factor causing the U. K. to have the highest COVID-19 death rate in Europe.
