In this term ,I e a TV called Tess of the Durbervilles.It is made from the novel named Tess of the Durbervilles,written by Thomas Hardy.
Tess of the Durbervilles describes a tragic life about one beautiful and pure girl after disgrace.Tess was a poor peasant girl.At the beginning of the works,wo know Tess replaces her father to load of beehives herlf to the retailers in Casterbridge for the Saturday market.One the way,a mail cart runs into her wagon and kills the hor.The encounter gets
her family into the trap.For the benefit to her family,she goes to claim the kinship with Alec and abandoned by Clare,she has to throw herlf into the lap of Alec only for the benefit to her family.Tess tries to struggle with the bitter fate.Feeling guilty of indulgence in the outside pleasure without helping her mother.After May-Day dance,Tess hurries home to deal with the homework,Though Tess does things for her family and make sacrifices,she still can’t escape the tie of fate.Sended by her mother to claim kindred with a more prosperous branch of the Durberviles family,she was duced by the young master of the hou,Alec,and had to return home in disgrace.After giving birth to a child who died in infancy,she went to work as wage-laborer at a daisy farm at Talbothays.There she met Angel Clare,a son of clergyman,and he felled in love with her and married her.On the wedding night,Tess and Clare told each other about their pasts,and,Clare,after hearing Tess’s story left her for Brazil.Poverty forced Tess to ek for work and she worked for a long time at a capitalist farm at Flint comb-Ash where she was insulted and oppresd by the master.Then the news of her father’s death and expulsion of her family from their cottage drived her to ek for assistance from Alec,and the latter,now a preach
er,soon resumes his former illicit relations with her.In the end,when Clare finally came to tell her that he had forgiven her and he still loved her.Tess was bitterly unhappy.She now hated Alec becau once again he had been the cau of her husband’s repudiation of her.Feeling that she played a most inglorious part and she would be happy if Alec was dead,in addition,Alec said many bad words to satirize her.She stabbed him as he slept.Then she ran out of the hou and followed Angel.They had a few happy days together.Living with the husband she truly loved,she was read for her punishment.

Tess is very positive and optimistic.Although she experienced much suffering,she still didn’t give up.She didn’t lo the hope of the life.She can smile.Maybe the ending is not happy,but I think Tess is happy.Becau she has a husband who loved her.,in spite of the fact that she was abandoned by him once.
The reason that cau the life of Tess is the society then.The society at that time is feudal.The people,especially the noble,didn’t care the life of the poor.And the poor envied the noble.They wanted to be clod to them.This is a direct cau of Tess’ suffering.

Girls should be hard working, faithful, loyal, intelligent, and virtuous and the most important thing was she must be a maiden! If her husband was the first man who touched her then she was a good girl, a good wife no matter how she thought. If she wasn’t, then she would gain a very bad reputation and nobody would dare to go near her. What about men? People did not care whether he was an experienced man or not, nor did they care about his character. They thought man equals power and power equals rights.
Now let’s not be so bitter. Nowadays women’s situations have become much better. Some are becau of the change of society and some are becau of civilization. Just let tho poor painful women like TESS be just a memory.
