“Getting Around in Beijing” is the cond period of this module。 It’s the reading part, which mainly talks about the 5 transportations in Beijing, including taxis, bus and trolleybus, minibus, underground and pedicabs。 It also provides us some words, phras and ntences related to transportation. After learning this passage, students could know much about the traffic in Beijing。 And they can also make full u of the expressions to give others some advice on choosing the transportation in Beijing. VI. Learning Methods
Reading strategies: Reading requires students to analyze the passage and tries to get the main idea of the text. It's difficult for them to get all of the aspects, so students need to develop some reading strategies, such as, skimming, skinning, summarizing information, making inferences and so on. So in this class, students will be lead to develop the reading strategies.

Step I Lead—in (5mins)
First I will greet my students. Through greeting teachers can get clor to the students, and relax the students; and it’s also a good way to call students’ attention。 Then I will give the examples about the transportation in our city-Neijiang and ask students to choo a transport means to go ground in Neijing and give the reasons。 And then I will compare Neijiang with Beijing。 Tell them that traffic jam often happens in big cities, so it is important for us to choo a right transport means in Beijing。 Through this, I can introduce the topic to the students。 surely this can stimulate students’ interest to take an active part in what we are going to learn in this class.

Step II Skimming (6mins)
In this part, I will ask the students to look at the title and go through this passage quickly and try to get the main idea. Then I will ask them how many transports are mentioned in this text. Ask one student to answer my question。

Step III Careful Reading (29mins)
For this part, the main purpo is to help students find the three aspects of each transport means。 First, ask the students to read the first three subtitles. After that, I will show them two pictures. One is the taxi of Beijing and the other one is the taxi of Neijiang。 Let them to find the difference between them。 Then I will rai some questions to lead them to find out the advantages and disadvantages. Students can also give their own ideas about the advantages and disadvantages. And try to find out the time for people taking the transport。 When we read the passage, I will also pick out the words they may have difficulties and give a brief explanation to them。 After we deal with this, I will find some ntences that give people some advice. Let them write some suggestions to their pen friends who will go to Beijing next week.
Step IV Summary (2mins)
After we finish learning a class, it’s better for the teacher to draw a conclusion of what have been talked about in the class。 In this way, it can remind the students what they’ve learnt and also will lmfhelp them understand it better。 So I will lead them to review what we have learned in this class。

This part is quite necessary。 In this ction, I will ask them to pre—learn the grammar, so students can know what I will teach next class.
VIII。 Blackboard Design
Blackboard design is very important for teaching。 Some difficult points and important points will be written on the blackboard to achieve visual effects。 My blackboard design is quite simple and clear。 On one side, it will be the table about the transport。 On the other side, I just write the key points, I think it’s uful for students have a clear understanding of the text.
