led to slip rings (8) on the armature shaft. The stator (1) enclos the tubular armature while leaving an air gap. The stator has an annular cut-out (10) on the inside, stator parts projecting on both sides of the cut-out which exhibit pole shoes which can be magnetid radially and in opposing directions. Since the armature and stator consist of rotation bodies, the machine is simple. By accommodating the exciter winding (6) (where permanent magnet excitation is not provided) in an annular slot of the stator, small air gaps and a virtually complete protection of the winding against damage can be achieved.
