The Pursuit of Happiness
The right to pursue happiness is promid to Americans by the US Constitution, but no one ems quite sure which way happiness ran. It may be we are issued a hunting licen but offered no game. Jonathan Swift conceived of happiness as “the state of being well-deceived” or of being “a fool among idiots,” for Swift saw society as a land of fal goals.
It is, of cour, un-American to think in terms of fal goals. We do, however, em to be dedicated to the idea of buying our way to happiness. We shall all have made it to Heaven when we posss enough.
And at the same time the forces of American business are hugely dedicated to making US deliberately unhappy. Advertising is one of our major industries, and advertising exists not to satisfy desires but to create them—and to create them faster than anyone’s budget can satisfy them. For that matter, our whole economy is bad on addicting US to greed. We are even told it is our patriotic duty to support the national economy by buying things.
Look at any of the magazines that cater to women. There advertising begins as art and slogans in the front pages and ends as pills and therapy in the back pages. The art at the front illustrates the dream of perfect beauty. This is the baby skin that must be hers. This, the perfumed breath she must breathe out. This, the sixteen-year-old figure she must display at forty, at fifty, at sixty, and forever. This is the harness into which Mother must strap herlf in order to display that perfect figure. This is the cream that restores skin, the are the tablets that melt away fat around the thighs, and the are the pills of perpetual youth.
Obviously no reasonable person can be completely persuaded either by such art or by such pills and devices. Yet someone is obviously trying to buy this dream and spending billions every year in the attempt. Clearly the happiness-market is not running out of customers, but what is it they are trying to buy?
Actually, the esnce of happiness is in the pursuit itlf, astronautin the pursuit of what is engaging and life-changing, which is to say, in the idea of becoming. A nation is not measured by what it posss or wants to posss, but by what it wants to become.

随便翻开一本迎合妇女口味的杂志,不难发现,开头的几页广告都是艺术和口号,到了结尾的几页就都变成了药丸和疗法。 开头几页的艺术包装所展示的是对至尊美丽的渴望。 她拥有的是婴儿般的细腻皮肤。 她呼出来的是芬芳的气息。 无论她40岁、50岁、60岁,还是任何时候,她永远都拥有16岁的身段。 这就是母亲为了展示她的优美体形所使用的束带。

很明显,任何有理智的人都不会完全被此类广告艺术、药丸或器械所打动。 不过确实有人想要花钱买这个梦,不惜为此每年花销数十亿美元。 显然,幸福市场不乏顾客,但是他们想要购买的又是什么呢?

日常使用和保养缝纫机应注意以下几点:
1、使用缝纫机时,手轮只能往自己方向转,逆时针转动,不要前后乱转,会引起卡机或者机器错位,特别是在踩脚踏板机器在工作的时候,不要用手去把手轮往后转,这样不仅会损坏机器的马达。还会把手轮里的卡口转坏,切记切记!!
2、缝纫时,万一出现卡线,机器转不动,千万不能用力扯布或者扯线,也不能继续踩脚踏
板,要立即停下来,把面线和底线剪断,小心拿出梭壳和摆梭等部件,把里面清理干净。(具体方法可参考操作视频)。
3、倒缝时,要按住倒缝键不要松开,倒缝只有在gallery车直线的时候才可以使用,其他线迹都不能用,倒缝的速度要慢,是正缝的三分之一,不然容易断针。厚的面料也不可以使用倒缝。
4、如果针距调节钮转不到SS或者S1/S2,或者线迹选择钮拧不动的时候,不能硬转,先抬起压脚,往自己的方向转动手轮,转几圈后再去拧就可以了。旋钮是不通的,转到头后旋钮上有一个带箭头的标志,就表示转不动了就要反转回去。这两个钮先按进去贴紧机身再拧会容易些,不要空空在外面硬转。
5、803/883机型,使用曲折线迹的时候要将线迹宽度调节钮拨到最右边(机器右上方的半圆),否则缝出来的是直线。缝直线的时候要把线迹宽度调节钮拨到最左边,否则机针位置不能在正中间。序列号英文

6、开始工作时,先检查主要机件,踏起来轻重情况如何,有无特殊声音,机针是否正常等等,如发现不正常现象,应及时检查。
7、缝纫机不用时,把压脚下垫放一层布,抬起压脚板,将机针插入针孔板内,并罩上防尘罩,以防尘屑侵入。

8、缝制厚件时需稍微抬起压脚(半抬)wouldrather的用法,否则可能导致断针断线。
9、清除机头部分污垢,不要用牙签,针等尖锐物,以免损毁零部件。
10、脚踏转速不能太快,否则要损伤机件。
11、皮带用久了会越拉越松,机器会时走时不走,需要更换皮带。
