Adverb: a kind of part of speech.
Adverbial: element of a ntence.
Forms
He ldom hands in his exercis on time.(adverb)
The tomatoes cost $3 a pound.(noun phra)

Function:
Adjunct 修饰性---modify the predicate
Disjunct 评注性---express attitude
Conjunct 连接性---connect two claus
Compare :
He teaches like his brother.(adjunct)山东省经济管理干部学院
年轻的维多利亚女王He is a teacher, like his brother.(disjunct)
Adjunct:
Eg. He spoke to me about it briefly.
Disjunct:
Eg. Frankly speaking, I am bored.
  Not surprising, all the students
Conjunct:
Eg. Jack is clever, however, he is not hard-working. ( contrast )
If they keep on making so much noi, then I’m leaving.(cau and effect)
Conjunctive adverb VS Conjunction.
Eg. We have complained veral times about the poor working conditions, and yet they have done nothing about it.
And: conjunction or coordinator connect two parts of a ntence.
Yet:conjunctive adverb  -logical relationship.

Position of adverbials
A: I usually go to school by bus.

Normally, esp. ly形式的adverb between modal verb and the main verb.
The police in Britain are usually armed.(放在系动词之后)
Compare
A:He was working with shears in garden in whole morning.
B: The whole morning , he was working with shears in the garden.(focus on the time)
A: Jack, also, told me the news this morning. (Other one)
B: Jack told me also the news today. (someone el)
C: Jack told me the news also today. (the same day)
Number of adverbials
A: children are writing 蜡笔英语怎么读crayonbadly now everywhere.
B: children are writing badly, locally, lately. (x) different forms
