again摘要：PURPOSE:To reduce the amount of condary scale formed on the surfaces of steel products and to enhance the suitability of the scale to pickling by coating the products with metallic sulfide powder and with an antioxidant in order before hot- rolling the products. CONSTITUTION:When steel products such as a slab and a billet are heated to 1,100-1,400 deg.C and hot-rolled, the surfaces are previously coated with powder of >=1 kinds of metallic sulfides such as ZnS and FeS by 10-1,000g/m<2>. After further coating the surfaces with a mixture of Cr2O3, chamotte, SiO2, Al and sodium silicate as an antioxidant, the coated steel products are dried, heated, and hot- rolled. Thus, condary scale is formed by a small amount during the hot-rolling and the following process, and the pickling of the scale with hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid or the like is finished in a short time.
