The Oxford Phrasal Academic Lexicon?The Oxford Phrasal Academic Lexicon (OPAL) is a t of four word lists that together provide
an esntial guide to the most important words and phras to know in the field of English for
Academic Purpos (EAP). This list gives the 1200 most important words in academic writing,
divided into twelve sublists of 100 words each, with the most important words in Sublist 1.
