1.名词
1.1可数名词
A count noun has a plural form, usually made by adding -s. When it is singular, it must have a determiner in front of it, such as the, her, or such, e.g. My cat is She's a good friend.

1.2不数名词
An uncount noun refers to things that are not normally counted or considered to be individual items. Uncount nouns do not have a plural form, and are ud with a singular verb. They do not need determiners, e.g. ...an area of outstanding natural beauty.

1.3作为可数名词和不可数名词有不同含义
Experience：经历：可数；经验：不可数

1.4 N-VAR
A variable noun typically combines the behaviour of both count and uncount nouns in the
same n. The singular form occurs freely both with and without determiners. Variable nouns also have a plural form, usually made by adding -s. Some variable nouns when ud like uncount nouns refer to abstract things like hardship and injustice, and when ud like count nouns refer to individual examples or instances of that thing, e.g. He is not afraid to protest It is never too late to correct an injustice. ...the injustices of world poverty. Others refer to objects which can be mentioned either individually or generally, like potato and salad: you can talk about a potato, potatoes, or potato

1.5 复数名词
A plural noun is always plural, and is ud with plural verbs. If a pronoun is ud to stand for the noun, it is a plural pronoun such as they or them, e.g. The clothes are ready He expresd his condolences to the families of people who died in the incident. Plural nouns which end in -s usually lo the -s when they come in front of another noun, e.g. trours, trour pocket. If they refer to a single object which has two main parts, such as jeans and glass, the expression a pair of is sometimes ud, e.g. a pair of jeans or a pair of glass. This is shown as N-PLURAL: also a pair of N.

1.6 Number and quantity
Number is ud for countable nouns, amount for uncountable nouns.
Scale of adjectives uful for expressing number and quantity:
Tiny small average large/considerable huge vast
Add just a tiny amount of chili pepper, or el it may get too hot.
A considerable number of people failed to get tickets. [formal]
Vast amounts of money have been wasted on this project.
Were there many people at the airport? Oh, about average, I'd say. [fairly informal]
1.7 Making Uncountable Words Countable
You can make many uncountable nouns singular by adding a bit of or a piece of. Similarly, you can make such nouns plural with bits of or pieces of. (Bit is less formal than piece.)
