█shipment clau:
It is an integral and important part of a contract between the importer and the exporter in international trade. In foreign trade, shipment is mostly made with ocean vesls. Transporting the goods to destination is a complicated process and involves lots of work: the time of shipment, the port of loading and destination, means of conveyance(transportation), the shipping documents, urging shipment, shipping advice, shipment instructions , partial shipment, transshipment, booking shipping space, chartering ships, making customs declaration (报关), etc.
█Before shipment, the buyer should nd shipping requirements, known as the Shipping Instructions (装船须知/指示) to the ller , in which the buyer informs them in writing of the packing and mark, mode of transportation, shipping marks (麦头) , etc. The function is to tell the ller how to make shipment correctly.
█Shipping advice: It is nt from the ller to the buyer. The llers usually nd by fax/e-mail a notice to the buyers immediately after the goods are loaded on board a ship,
advising them of the shipment, especially under FOB or CFR terms. Such a notice, known as the Shipping Advice, may include the following: Contract and / or L/C numbers, name of commodity, number of packages, total quantity shipped, name of vesl and its sailing date and sometimes even the total value of the goods.

What does he state in his letter? Why? Make clear beforehand their packing requirements to eliminate possible future troubles.
About the letter: In shipment, proper packing is necessary, becau it not only protects the goods from damage but prevents the goods from pilferage as well. Moreover, in ocean transportation, strong packing is needed to withstand rough handling. In most cas, damages have been caud by improper packing. We have to pay more attention to packing so as to avoid damage that occurred during transit.
