How to Carry Forward Chine Traditional Culture in College English T eaching

aeis>sndAbstract: College English teaching needs not only to teach English knowledge to students, but also to focus on the teaching and promotion of traditional Chine culture. Under the background of the new curriculum reform, College English teaching should stress the teaching of traditional culture, so as to enhance students’ national confidence and personal quality, and improve students’ personality. College English teachers need to fully understand the advantages of infiltrating traditional culture in College English teaching at the prent stage, so as to formulate a targeted and personalized teaching plan. Therefore, this paper mainly analyzes the problems of the infiltration of traditional culture in College English teaching, and puts forward effective measures to infiltrate traditional culture according to college students characteristics and English teaching requirements, so as to strengthen students’ understanding of traditional culture and improve students’ national lf-confidence.

1. Introduction
In traditional college English teaching, teachers only pay attention to the explanation of theoretical knowledge, but despi the importance of cultivating students’ subject literacy and cultural accomplishments, which leads to the low efficiency of traditional culture teaching. Even if there are a few teachers infiltrating traditional cultural knowledge in teaching, the effect is not ideal due to the constraints of teaching methods and students’ ability, and it can not maximize the role of traditional culture in College English teaching. College English teachers also need to choo appropriate teaching measures bad on students’ characteristics and teaching content according to the new curriculum teaching content, so as to improve the teaching efficiency of traditional culture in College English teaching,

2. Permeation of  T raditional Culture in College English T eaching
(1) Teachers and Parents’ Insufficient Understanding of Traditional Culture Education
Due to the long-term influence of examination-oriented education, teachers and parents pay too much attention to the knowledge learning of students, especially the college students who are at the turning point of life. They only pay attention to the learning of students and hope students can enter a good high school, but they ignore the cultivation of traditional cultural literacy of college students. As a result, the traditional culture teaching remains inefficient. The students have long been under the attention of parents and teachers, which leads to students only pay attention to the learning of knowledge, riously hit the students’ interest in learning the content of traditional culture, and hindered the inheritance and development of traditional culture. Teachers, students and parents all regard English as a test tool, but ignore the cultivation of traditional cultural literacy.
(2) Inefficiency of Classroom Teaching
There is a little part of traditional culture knowledge in College English textbooks. Currently, college teachers do not pay much attention to the teaching of traditional culture knowledge, and do not deeply explore the traditional culture content in textbooks and their real life, so that the permeation of traditional culture in College English classroom is still inefficient and students’ cultural literacy can no
t be further improved. The heavy learning tasks in Colleges and universities make the college students under great learning pressure and heavy academic burden, which makes the students stay in a high-pressure learning environment for a long time. It has riously hit the students’ concentration and desire for knowledge in the classroom, and the students will not take the initiative to learn the traditional cultural knowledge in English class. Furthermore, the traditional culture teaching in College English classroom relatively lack energy.
(3) Traditional Teachers’ Teaching Notions and Methods
Some college English teachers are aware of the importance of permeating traditional culture in teaching. But due to the controversial teachers’ teaching philosophy and methods, college students’ interest in traditional Chine culture has not been improved, and the efficiency of traditional culture infiltration in College English teaching remains poor. Even under the background of the new curriculum reform, most college English teachers still do not change the traditional culture teaching ideas and teaching methods. They only teach students traditional culture in the form of preaching, who content is always tedious to students, further making students lo the interest of traditional culture learning.

The articles not only focus on the traditional Chine virtues, such as respecting the old and loving the young, being honest and trustworthy, but also includes the traditional festivals such as Spring Festival and Qingming Festival, and the architectural arts such as gardens, palaces and the Great Wall. When explaining couplets, teachers can combine them with Chine traditional festivals to improve students’ interest in learning. They can also organize students to carry out folk activities related to traditional festivals to greatly improve students’ learning enthusiasm and enrich students’ knowledge of traditional culture.
(3) Improve Teachers’ Cultural Literacy and Professional Ability
It can not only greatly improve college students’ cultural literacy and moral character, but also play the role of inheriting and carrying forward the traditional culture to combine China’s rich and excellent traditional culture with college English teaching. Therefore, only when teachers actively learn traditional culture and devote themlves to the their own cultural literacy and comprehensive ability can we strengthen the combination efficiency of traditional culture and English teaching. Cultural contents related to subjects can be added to the teaching cours of local and national schools, making traditional culture permeate into textbooks and our daily life. Through professional training and lf-learning, teachers can also improve their personal professional quality and teaching ability, so as to promote the new curriculum reform of English classroom.
(4) Enrich the Connotation of Traditional Culture by Using Information Technology
With the rapid development of information technology and the network, information technology has gradually penetrated into our daily life and work, and it also has certain advantages in the field of ed
ucation. Teachers can take full advantages of information technology when infiltrating traditional culture knowledge in college English classroom. Teachers need to actively explore the effective combination of traditional culture teaching and information technology, and greatly improve the actual teaching efficiency of traditional culture with the help of information technology, so as to cultivate college students’ cultural literacy and moral character, laying a foundation for the future life and study of college students.
(5) Organize After-class Practical Activities to Carry Forward the Spirit of Traditional Culture
The forms of traditional Chine culture are very diver and rich, such as traditional Chine painting, poetry, architecture, festivals, mathematics, astronomy, calligraphy, couplets and so on. Therefore, traditional culture in College English teaching should not be limited in classroom. Teachers should actively implement a variety of extracurricular practical activities, innovate and u various teaching methods to comprehensively show the traditional culture in English textbooks, so as to create a good learning atmosphere of traditional culture for students. College English teachers can give students five minutes before class to share their accumulated articles of interest, so as to enhance college students’ perception for traditional culture.
