A paragraph usually consists of three parts:
The topic ntence introduces the topic and the controlling idea of the paragraph, the supporting ntences which support or develop the controlling idea, and the concluding ntence which winds up the whole paragraph by restating the topic ntence or drawing an inference.
Unity means
ideas or content are related to the topic
Coherence means

Four basic ways to achieve coherence:
Repetition of key words and phras, transitional signals, u of pronouns, and repeated ntence patterns
