A nice little boy
Jim was an orphan. He was the laughing stock of the whole town. Jim was 12, and he never remembered having a kind word spoken to him in his whole life.
One day as Jim walked down a street, he saw a lady in front of him, with some books under her arms. Suddenly, the books dropped down. Jim ran up to help her pick them up. “Thank you, dear. You are a nice little boy,” she said kindly and went on her way after giving him a bright smile.

Long long ago,therepubliquere lived a very cruel sultan. Sultan ruled his kingdom with an iron fist(铁拳). Everyone in the land did exactly what sultan ordered. The kingdom’s prisons(监狱) were full of people who had not done what the sultan had ordered.
As the sultan’s next birthday came,everyone was too afraid to get up and face the day. Luckily, most people had nothing to worry about except Ali and Baboo, for they were told to go before the sultan. They were told to take part in a camel race.
