PLUGIN INSTALLATION
The relea archive contains everything you need to run Redshift for Houdini, including the Redshift libraries, the plugin binaries, the menu shelf, the HDAs, etc. The Redshift for Houdini build must match exactly your Houdini build to avoid problems.
Plugin installation (Linux):
Run the .run file. After installation, Redshift and the Houdini plugin will be installed in the /usr/redshift
default folder. The Houdini plugin will be in the subfolder r edshift4houdini.
To u Redshift with Houdini, you'll need to edit v file to include the following lines: HOUDINI_DSO_ERROR = 2
PATH = "/usr/redshift/bin:$PATH"
HOUDINI_PATH = "/usr/redshift/redshift4houdini/15.5.480;&"

The above example shows an installation for Houdini 15.5.480. Depending on your Houdini version, plea change the version number shown in HOUDINI_PATH.
Plugin installation (Windows):
Run the exe file. After installation, Redshift and the Houdini plugin will be installed in the
C:\ProgramData\Redshift default folder. The Houdini plugin will be in the subfolder
Plugins\Houdini. Log files, your licen file (if using a node-locked licen) and the Redshift preferences file are also stored in C:\ProgramData\Redshift.

PLUGIN LICENSING
Redshift is licend at the core renderer level, so a licen allows you to run any of the plugins, inclu
ding Redshift for Houdini. In other words, if you're already a customer, the same Redshift licen you u for Maya, 3ds Max or Softimage can also be ud to render in Houdini without watermarks.
THE REDSHIFT TOP MENU
The Redshift plugin adds to Houdini a new drop-down menu with all the plugin tools, uful links and information about Redshift.
