摘要：The prent invention provides an optical module which can be made thinner without causing transmission loss in high-speed transmission. The optical module compris at least: an optical connector; a flexible wiring substrate including an optical
miconductor for mutually converting an optical signal and an electric signal, a miconductor for driving the optical miconductor, and a miconductor for amplifying a signal from the optical miconductor; and a cover for accommodating the flexible wiring substrate. The optical miconductor is linearly arranged along the longitudinal direction of the flexible wiring substrate. The flexible wiring substrate is folded so as to have an upper-side ction, a vertical ction and a lower-side ction. The optical miconductor, the miconductor for driving the optical miconductor and the miconductor for amplifying a signal from the optical miconductor are arranged in the vertical ction of the flexible wiring substrate. The optical connector is arranged orthogonally to the vertical ction of the flexible wiring substrate, and is vertically arranged corresponding to the linear arrangement of the optical miconductor arranged in the vertical ction of the flexible wiring substrate.
