My mother was a therapist (治疗专家). Well, technically she was a hairdresr, but in reality she was a therapist. In the break room later that afternoon, I made some comment about it to my mother. The last time we saw Lentil Bean, he was six weeks old and fighting for his life. The French bulldog (斗牛犬) was born with a cleft lip and palate (唇腭裂), and he needed constant help from his owner to eat and stay healthy.
Today, almost four months later, Lentil’s palate has been surgically (通过外科手术) fixed, he’s eating on his own, and he’s grown bigger than ever — in more ways than one. He is now a healthy and famous dog with a Facebook following of more than 97,000 fans.
