摘要：Sub-aperture control is provided for high intensity focud ultrasound. Test transmissions are made quentially from different sub-apertures. The tissue respon at
the focal regions is determined (40) and ud to lect (32) sub-apertures. For example, one or more sub-apertures are not ud where temperature does not ri above certain threshold or tissue displacement is weak, such as associated with intervening bone or attenuating tissue. Other factors may be ud instead or in addition to tissue respon at the focal region. Relative proximity of the sub-apertures to a lesion (34), angular distribution of the sub-apertures (36), shape or size of the sub-aperture focal regions as compared to the tissue to be treated (38), or combinations thereof may be ud. Once lected (32), the relative weight for each sub-aperture may be adjusted (42) bad on measured tissue respon for each sub-aperture, such as to provide more equal treatment contribution from different sub-apertures
