        Step 1. Lead-in and prentation
              T: I’m very happy to be here and teach you English. Now let me introduce                           
mylf. Ask some questions:
Do you have a special friend?
What makes him /her special?
Eddie’s friend is Hobo. He is very hungry. Is there anything to eat for him? Plea look at the pictures on page 2. And listen to the tape.
Step 2. Listen, read and answer
Play the tape for students to listen and answer.

        Step 3. Discuss and act
Students discuss in group of 4.

Look at some qualities of good friend. Match the

On the board, write: What qualities of a good friend are important to you? Put ticks under the correct headings in the table. Then report it to class.

My partner thinks that clever, funny and good-looking are very important.
It is quite important for my /his /her best friend to be polite and clever. 
Step 6. Summarize
T: Today we have learned some important qualities about a good friend. It ems that we all think appearance is not so important, but he should be helpful and honest. And I hope everyone can be like that and you will have more friends.
Step 7. Homework
Recite the conversation on page 2.

Teaching procedures:
        Step 1. Revision
              Revi the conversation by acting.
              Do you have a good friend? Which qualities of him /her do you like best?
Step 2. Prentation

Do page 6 Part C1.
T: Mr Zhou is writing some notes about Betty, Max and May. Find out the fal ntences and correct them.
Step 3. Skills
1. Whom do you want to vote for as your best friend in our class? And tell us your reason.
2. Give the students a list of qualities required for another vote. Write them in the table. Vote for the right students and put the names in the table.
