CARTON
1.0. MASTER
1.1 Must be of correct size test weight and type as specified by Packaging Engineering. Must
have correct and legible artwork, i.e. product name, number quantity, logo, date code and the
required caution statements as specified by Packaging engineering. For explanation of date
coding system e SRS-034.
Carton flaps must be properly aled (glued or taped); includes closure ams and
manufacturer's ams.
Display cartons - measure soiled, scuffed or damaged areas:
On principal display panel, defective areas*:
• must be less than 5% of panel area, and
• must not render a cautionary, warning, advisory or age grading statement to be illegible,

• must not cau the display panel area to compare unfavorably with approved product
standard sample.
On non-principal display panel, defective areas*:
• must be less than 10% of panel area, and

PACKAGE
2.0 INDIVIDUAL
2.1 Must be correct type, size, and material as specified by Packaging Engineering.
Must have correct and legible artwork as per approved standard.
Must be clod (glued, taped, aled or shrink wrapped) as specified by Packagingfactor
Engineering. Must be properly packed:
All parts and contents of the toys shall be placed in the correct position.
The inrts, if any, shall be placed in the correct position.
All parts and enclosures (instructions, warnings, cross-ll booklets, etc.) shall be prent.
Must not contain metal staples, pins, rigid wires or similar objects that will not meet sharp
point specifications per SRS-002.
Any included plastic bags or film must meet the requirements of SRS-033.
Blister card items must meet Blister Card Sealing per SRS-035.
The individual package must meet the requirement of transportation test per SRS-010.

Warpage on shrink wrap packages may not exceed one inch when laying on a flat surface.
3.0 PRODUCT - AESTHETIC REQUIREMENTS
3.1 Molded Plastic Parts
3.1.1 Must be of correct material, size, shape, color and surface texture in accordance with
drawings and approved standard.
Must not be broken, cracked or incomplete (short shot).
Must be free from excessive flash, flow marks, gate and knockout pin marks.
Must not be excessively warped or distorted.
Mismatch between two mating parts must not exceed limit samples.
Defects in outstanding areas*, view from 20 inches (e.g. Logo area).
NOTE: Defect areas on product must not render a cautionary, warning or advisory
statement to be illegible.
Toys with major dimensions greater than 4 1/2" shall not have defect areas that
exceed 0.015 square inch or .150 inches length and/or must compare favorably with
approved product standard samples.
Toys with major dimensions less than 4 1/2" shall not have defect areas that exceed
0.002 square inch or .080 inches in length and/or must compare favorably with
approved product standard samples.
Defects in non-outstanding areas* view from 20 inches.
Toys with major dimensions greater than 4 1/2" shall not have defect areas that
exceed .060 square inch or .375 inches length and/or must compare favorably with
mendapproved product standard samples.
Toys with major dimensions less than 4 1/2" shall not have defect areas that compare
unfavorably with approved product standard samples.

3.2 Soft Parts (e.g. Fabric, Yarn, Plush)
3.2.1 Must be of correct material, weight, color, pattern and pile in accordance with
specifications and approved standards.
Must be wn correctly: Placement of parts, am allowance, type of stitching and
number of stitches per inch, thread type, finishing and trimming shall be in
accordance with specifications and approved standards.
Must be free from holes, wrinkles, open ams, wn in stuffing material, soiled or
discolored areas.

Hair shall not be tangled or have extraneous material in two or more places. Hair
must be styled per standard and free of bald spots per limit samples. Hair weight
tolerance to be +/- 1 gram of approved standard.
3.2.2 Stuffed Toys
Must be stuffed correctly: The type and the amount of stuffing shall be in
accordance with specifications and approved standards. Stuffing material shall be
uniform (no lumps), evenly distributed throughout stuffed portion of the toy.
The compressibility (degree of softness and feel) of the stuffed portion shall be in
accordance with specifications and approved standards.
3.3 Decoration
3.3.1 Stuffed Toys
Facial features for the stuffed toys and other decorations and adornments shall be of
proper material, color, size, shape, and texture and shall be positioned and attached in
accordance with specifications and approved standards.
Must be free of color mismatch or shade variations within same toy. Compare to
standard under Pantone Color Viewing Box with all light sources (store light,
daylight and home light).
All fabrics on toys with any portion of the age grading under 3 years must meet Wet
Crocking Specifications of SRS-042.
3.3.2 Labels
Decorative labels shall be of correct material, color, size, and configuration and have
proper adhesive (if any) in accordance with the drawing and approved standards.
They must be properly positioned in accordance with approved standard, and shall be
free from damage and unacceptable bubbles, wrinkles, and curled edges.
3.3.3 Surface Coatings
Painted decoration (including hand painting, spray paint, pad printing, silk screen and
hot stamping,) shall be of correct design, color (s) and shall be properly positioned in
accordance with drawing and the approved standard.
Surface Coatings shall comply with:
Surface Coating Adhesion-SRS-029 and Surface Coating Abrasion-SRS-032.
3.4 Identification
3.4.1 Toy packages or identification tags shall bear the following information:
slug• Hasbro (Playskool) name, address, and logo
• Age Grade
• Product Name and Number
• Country of Origin if not U.S. an vendor code
• Patent or copyright information if necessary (The may also be required on the
toy).
• Caution statements as specified in Section 8.3
• Other information as specified in Section 8.0
• Date code per SRS-034
3.4.2 Stuffed or Soft Toys shall have a wn-in label with the following information:
• Hasbro name, address, and/or logo
• Patent copyright information if necessary
• Stuffing contents description including a description of any stiffening material such
as plastic, wire, paper, etc. (e.g. plastic stiffener, metal stiffener, etc.)
