I’mproudofthefactthatwestartedtobuildthenation’sinfrastructureincludingaNatio

nalBroadbandNetworkwhichIfundamentallybelievewilltransformthiconomyinway

swhichwehaveyettoconceive,fundamentallytransformourbusinessandthewayin

whichGovernmentsoperate,healthrvicesaredeliveredandthewayinwhicheducation

singpieceof21stcenturykitforourcountry.

verhadanewbuildingbuiltintheirschoolssincetheWar.

I’mproudofthefactthatwenowhaveanationalcurriculumforourschools,forevery

StateofournationandtheTerritories.

I’mproudofthefactthatwenowhave50,000moreuniversityplacesandthefactthat

wehaveinvestedsomuchmoreinouruniversities,inourrearch.

I’mreallyproudofthefactthatwe’vereformedthehealthsystem;aNationalHealthand

lookbackonthisinadecade’stime,andthefactthatwe’

vemadetheAustralianGovernment,forthefirsttimeinourhistory,thedominantfunder

ofournation’llbeenasavery,verydeepreform.

I’mproudofthefactthatwearebuilding20regionalcancercentresrightacrossourcou

wifyougooutthereandpeoplearesufferingfromcancer,itdoesaltery

thofolkhaveneverhaddecentcancersrvicesbefore,never,a

ndIwasalwaysstunnedbythefactthatpeopleouttherearethreetimesmorelikelyto

I’mproudofthefactthatweareclosingthegapbetweenIndigenousandnon-Indigenous

thingsandbigthings:puttinghundredsofIndigenouskidswithscholar

shipsintoournation’sleadingboardingschools;backingsuchthingsastheClontarfAcad

emy,now22ofthemwefundaroundthenation,togetkidstoschoolandboosttheirat

tendancebyprovidingAFLtraining.I’mproudofthefactthatwe’rebehindacommitme

nttocreate50,000additionaljobsforIndigenousAustralianswiththeprivatector,and

I’mmostproudofthefactthatabouthere,wegreetedthestolengenerations.

AsThereremindedme,emembermostaboutit,fortho

ofyouwhoweren’there,wasasthestolengenerationscameinfromoverthere,theywe
