(祈使句/名词词组(,)+and/then/or+简单句,前半部分相当于if条件句，可用

动词或名词开头，后半部分的简单句通常用一般将来时。再看几个例句：

12.目的状语从句中常由sothat,inorderthat,lest(以免),forfearthat(以免),in

ca(以免)引导，放在主句之后。其引导的状语从句常用虚拟语气的“should

do”或情态动词“may/might/can/coulddo”.

Theystartedearlysothattheymightarriveintime.

Iavoidmentioningthesubjectlest(forfearthat)hebeoffended.

BringitnearersothatIcaneitbetter.

13.结果状语从句一般由so,sothat,so…that,such…that引导。如：

Theboxissoheavythatnobodycanmoveit.

Hemadeawrongdecision,sothathalfofhislifetimewaswasted.

Itissuchaheavyboxthatnobodycanmoveit.

(注意：sothat既可以引导目的状语从句，也可以引导结果状语从句，其区别

在于：后者通常用逗号与主句分开。)

14.方式状语从句一般由as,justas,asif,asthough,(in)theway(that)引导。其中

asif与asthough引导的从句一般用虚拟语气，除非陈述的情况很可能是事

实。如：

Theoldmanrunsveryfastasifhewereayoungman.

Hewatchedherasacatwatchesarat.

She’sdoingtheworkthewayIlikeitdone.

15.比较状语从句常由as…as,than,notso…as…,themore…themore,

as…so(与…同时；就像…一样)引导。如：

Iknowyoubetterthanhedoes.

Themorewecandoforyou,thehappierwewillbe.

Asthewindblewharder,sotheagrewrougher.

(注意此结构：AistoBasCistoD.=AistoBwhatCistoD.

16.省略主语：当状语从句中的主语与主句的主语一致时，通常可省略主语。如：
