OnApril7,theconstructionof110-kVHechanglu
intelligentsubstationinTianjinBinhaiNewAreawas
started,inauguratingthecomprehensivedemonstration
projectforsmartgridinSino-SingaporeTianjinEco-City.
Theeco-cityisanimportantstrategiccooperativeproject
ingto
theoverallplanoftheeco-city,theproportionofrenewable
energywillnotbelessthan20%,whichmayaccountfor
about24.62%ofthetotalelectricityconsumption.
Asthesymbolicprojectinthedevelopmentplanof
Tianjinsmartgrid,thisprojectintheeco-cityisthefirstone
udesnotonlythe
intelligentgeneration,transmission,substation,distribution
network,butalsoelectricityconsumptioncomprising
informationacquisitionsystems,two-waymutual-acting
marketingsystems,intelligentresidentialblocks(highri
buildings/houholds),andelectricvehiclecharging&
dischargingstations,aswellastheintegratedintelligent
dispatchingcontrolcenteranddynamicmultidimensional
annedthatby
theendof2011,asmartgridmergingwatermeter,gas
meter,electricmeter,cableTVnetwork,communication
network,internetandpowernetworktogetherwillbe
establishedtorealizeinformationmanagement,real-time
analysis,automaticmeter-readingandelectricalhome
appliancescontrol.

operation
OnApril11,theNorthwest—CentralChina(Sichuan)DCinterconn-
ectionproject,±500kVBaoji—Deyang(Bao—De)DCtransmission
project,smoothlypasd14-daytrialoperation,andformallywentinto
newasputintomono-poleoperationon
December28,2009,andputintobipoleoperationonMarch28this
hemono-polewentintooperation,ithasplayedamajorrole
duringwintertimeandincombatingdroughtforSichuangrid,andwill
effectivelyguaranteethereliablepowersupplyduringShanghaiWorld
Expoperiod.
Incompliancewiththeinterconnectionscaleof3GW,theavailable
dailypowersupplywillreach70GWh,whichisbeneficialfor
hydropowerinter-basincompensativeregulation,hydropowerandthermal
powercoordination,reducingtherervecapacityofpowergrid,and
strengtheningcapacitiestocombatnaturaldisastersandthepowersupply
reliabilityaswell.
Overthetrialoperationperiod,therewereabout0.8-TWhelectricity
transferredfromNorthwestgridtoCentralChinagridthroughBao—De
DClinewiththemaximumtransmissionpowerof3GWandtheaverage
transmissionpowerofover2GW,reachingthedesignedcapacity.
Bao—DeDCprojectisthefirstlong-distance,terminal-to-terminal
conventionalDCtransmissionprojectwhichisindependentlydesigned,
completed,nsfromBaojiconverter
stationofShaanxiFengqiangcountyandendsatWanshouqiaoconverter
stationofSichuanDeyangcity,passingthroughShaanxi,Gansuand
Sichuanthreeprovinceswiththetotallengthof534km.

Thecompanyhassuccessfullydeveloped
nineitemsoftoolsandappliances,such
aslarge-tonnageporcelaininsulator
clampingsandlarge-tonnagesix-split
conductorhoists,aswellasapproaches
availableforlinerepairandlive-
lsocompiledthe
maintenanceguidebookandoperating
panyisawarded
nationalpatentofutitilitymodelforlarge
knifeclampandthetripletdead-end
clampudforinsulatorstrings.
