五、语法定语从句

1.概念：在复合句中，修饰某一名词或代词的从句叫做定语从句。

wholivesnexttousisapoliceman.住在隔壁的男人是个警察。

plethatcometovisitthecityareallhere.来参观这座城市的人都在这儿。

thepenwhichheboughtyesterday这是他昨天买的笔。

上面例句中的man,people和pen是定语从句所修饰的词，叫先行词。定语从句放在

先行词的后面。

who,that,which是引导定语从句的关系代词。

2.用法：

①who指人，which指物，that既可以指人也可以指物。

Theboyswho/thatareplayingfootballarefromClassOne.那些正在踢足球的男孩子

是一班的。

Footballisagamewhich/thatislikedbymostboys.足球是一项大部分男孩子都喜欢

的运动。

②关系代词在从句中作宾语时可省略。

Theman(who/that)youmetjustnowismyfriend.你刚才见到的那个男人是我的朋友。

③关系词常有三个作用：1.引导定语从句2.代替先行词3.在定语从句中担当一个成

分

④关系代词只能用that，不能用which的情况

a)先行词是指物的不定代词如all,much,little,everything,nothing等时，或先行词被

不定代词all,few,little,much,very,some,no等修饰时
