慕田峪长城多建在外侧陡峭的崖边，依山就势，以险制厄。墙体高七八米，墙顶宽四五米，建筑材料以花岗条石为主，雄伟坚固。慕田峪长城，墙顶上两边都建有矮墙垛口，可两面拒敌，外侧还挖掘有挡马坑，使防御功能更加完善，这是一大特点。慕田峪长城墙顶的双侧都筑有长约5尺、厚1尺多、高2尺有余的垛口。慕田峪长城的关门两侧是沿山脊升起的，随山势翻转。在这些地段的垛口不是开口的长方形，而是呈锯齿状。射洞筑在垛口的下方，它不是圆形孔，而是顶部呈弧状的方形孔。险要之处还修有炮台。慕田峪长城上还建有“支城”。所谓“支城”，就是在长城内外侧有高脊山梁的地方，再节外生枝地顺山梁修出一段长城来，长度几米到几十米不等，并在此筑有敌楼，当地人称为“刀把楼”。

明代在重修慕田峪长城时，在墙顶的两侧都加修了垛口，还同时新设置了滚木石雷石孔，可攻可守。而修筑“刀把楼”，可控制制高点，减少对主城的威胁。慕田峪长城从正关台左侧起，随山势翻转，奔向远方。

长城由山腰直伸山顶，在山顶立一敌楼后，又突然下降，翻身向下返回山腰，又骤然升起，直到海拔940多米的地方，绕了一个大弯，其形状酷似牛犄角，苍劲雄浑，人们把它称之为“牛犄角边”。长城从“牛犄角边”继续往前延伸，经过一个名叫“箭扣”的地方，这里是已达海拔1044米的山峰，两侧陡峭如削。在修筑长城时，必须从山头的外侧断崖绝壁上通过，又不能把这个制高点留在外面，使用砖石、木材显然都不行。

于是聪明的能工巧匠们，用了两根大铁梁担在断崖之上，上面再垒砌砖石，这种方法在整个长城修建史上极为罕见。在慕田峪长城东侧，长城本来是顺山势伸向东北。可是到一敌楼处突然分出约1000多米的地段，另辟蹊径摆向东南方向，山势尽处，突然终止，在尽头处修了一个甚是坚固雄伟的敌楼。这段千余米的长城被人们称之为“秃尾巴边”。这样长城在此处就形成了三道长城汇于一楼，“三面极目观巨龙”的景观。在慕田峪长城“牛犄角边”的两侧，有一段长城被称为称为“箭扣”及“鹰飞倒仰”。墙体全部建在岩石裸露的悬崖峭壁上，长城的坡度大都在50度左右，其中有一节接近90度，几近垂直，台阶仅有几尺宽，非勇敢者不敢涉足。

今天一起床就九点了，我很着急地穿衣洗漱，准备出门。因为我们和姑姑一家约好了要去登司马台长城。

经过了两个多小时的车程，我们终于来到了长城脚下。我仔细地打量了这座长城一遍。发现它损坏的程度可比我以前去过的八达岭长城、慕田峪长城要厉害得多。可以看出是以前打仗损毁的，因为长城的烽火台上到处都是机关枪打的抢眼，和z弹炸出的洞。整个长城座落在山峰之上，显得很沧桑。

我们先登了东八号烽火台。这个烽火台保存的最好，只是少了一面墙。之后我们又登上了东七号烽火台，这个烽火台根本没法看了，只有一个地基剩在那里。我还想登上东六号烽火台，但是到东六号的路倾斜得很厉害，砖面也缺损得多，风又很大，妈妈害怕了，我们只好一起下山了。

人们都顺着石阶慢慢向上登，我真恨不得一下子就到那最高的山峰上去!到了半山腰的时候，我累的呼哧带喘的，正好旁边有一个小亭子，于是我们便到里面去休息休息。从那往山上看：秋日的长城更为悲壮，慕田峪长城有着独特的风格，关隘险要。西北面有建在海拔1000多米。整段长城依山就势，起伏连绵，如巨龙飞腾，这整是万里长城的精华所在。再往山下看草木茂盛，树木成林，一眼望不到边。在我们爬山时沿路看到了许多的小牌子：那都是些外国首脑的题词，有美国总统^v^来慕田峪长城的题词。有^v^为慕田峪长城题词：“慕田峪长城”；还有^v^^v^为慕田峪长城题词：“长城青天万刃山，游客登峰笑开颜。”这也足以说明了我国的万里长城早已名扬中外。

长城是世界上最长的墙。登上长城的我，更为自己是中国人感到无比的自豪和骄傲。脚下的长城在峰峦叠起中延向远方。这段长城的城砖已被人为和岁月剥蚀，仅剩下黄土夯筑的墙基，长城旁长满了灌木和小树，有些地方还存留着一些残缺，在这红叶满天的秋季里更显得苍老几分。但这种长城却更有一种雄浑古朴的沧桑感，正是那些高楼大厦所不具备的，也是我所喜欢的，再说喜欢长城似乎不用什么理由。 我随着大家往前走前面一段长城坡度虽陡，但还比较好走，越过后我才得以见到真正的烽火台，再看前面仿佛一道通天石梯，大约有70度仰角，只容只身攀登，从下往上看，就感觉这段长城似乎直插云霄!犹如“天梯”一般。我坐在“天梯”上休息了片刻，开始往上爬，由于衣服很厚，再加上背包又死沉死沉地往下坠，翻过“天梯”，竟爬得我浑身是汗。加把劲，最后我冲上一个制高点向远处望去，早晨的空气格外纯净，长城如一条摇头摆尾的蛟龙盘旋在崇山峻岭之间。这段长城犹如在山巅腾飞的一条巨龙，高峰处，如巨龙昂首，欲上九天；沟谷处如巨龙饮水，一头扎进山涧溪流之中，蔚为壮观。俯瞰山下，村庄历历，炊烟袅袅；举目远望，众峰挺拔，万木森森，长城如一条飘带在崇山峻岭间。这里长城多修于险峰断崖之上，雄奇峻峭，气势恢宏，走势极富变化和韵律，有的地方几乎垂直壁立，有的地方又几乎悬空，登长城犹如上“天梯”、过“天桥”。真不知没有先进机械的古人是怎样仅凭血肉之躯在这样的绝险之处把这长城修得如此雄伟坚固、易守难攻。我真是佩服的五体投地。

八点多我们就来到了慕田峪，我们坐上开放式缆车，凉风习习，蓝天悠悠，一路上美景美不胜收，渐渐地，长城出现在我们的眼前，犹如一条巨大的卧龙盘旋在连绵不断的山上，在碧蓝的天空下、郁郁葱葱的山脊上，显得如此雄伟壮观，让我们惊叹不已。

箭扣与鹰飞倒仰

长城从“牛犄角边”继续往前延伸，经过一个名叫“箭扣”的地方，这里是已达海拔1044米的山峰，两侧陡峭如削。在修筑长城时，必须从山头的外侧断崖绝壁上通过，又不能把这个制高点留在外面，使用砖石、木材显然都不行。于是聪明的能工巧匠们，用了两根大铁梁担在断崖之上，上面再垒砌砖石，这种方法在整个长城修建史上极为罕见。鹰飞倒仰是箭扣著名的险要地段，传说鹰飞至此也要倒仰飞行方能通过，此处实际为长城倒塌断层后形成的一个悬崖，崖深30米到50米。

我们早早地坐巴士来到景区门口，没想到从景区门口到长城检票口还有大约3公里的上行路线，需乘坐摆渡车。一开始，我以为摆渡车就跟长江上的渡轮一样。到了车站，才知道摆渡车其实就是一辆普通的公共汽车。

下了摆渡车，人们顺着蜿蜒曲折的登山步道向上爬。因为妹妹年龄小，我们坐了缆车。缆车缓缓上升，周围的一切都渐渐呈现在我的面前。我忍不住向窗外望去：满目青翠，我们简直就是身处于“天然氧吧”中，呼吸着天地间最清新的空气，欣赏着大自然给予我们的秀丽景色。当我看到长城时，我的.心情久久不能平静，真正的长城远比我想象中的还要雄伟壮观！它像一条巨龙盘旋在连绵不断的山上，在碧蓝的天空下、郁郁葱葱的山脊上，不断延伸、仿佛要征服每一座高山，牢牢地守护着脚下的每一寸土地。

到了十四号烽火台，我们开始步行向上爬，有的台阶很陡，坡度可能有80°。要不是旁边有栏杆，我早就像皮球一样滚下去了。由于有小雨，地面有点滑，我们小心翼翼地继续向前走，19和20号烽火台的难度最大，只能两个人同时经过。站在烽火台上，放眼远望，脚下的慕田峪长城景色尽收眼底。云雾给长城披上了一层白色的轻纱，宛如一幅充满诗情画意的水墨画，美极了！城墙走道两侧是一条长长的凹沟，我想这应该就是长城的排水系统，使墙体免受雨水的冲刷。这样巧妙的设计，让我深深地体会到我国古代劳动人民的智慧和才干。但更多的是感动，妈妈告诉我，这么多年，长城经历了不少的风风雨雨，却依然昂首挺立。它见证了朝代的更替，目睹了人民的英勇，凝聚了民族的团结！这一刻，我的胸膛里似乎多了些感动……
