Due to the comprehensiveness of China’s “reform and open” policies, economics plays an increasingly important role in the development of its global position. Though more and more companies built, management of companies cannot catch up with the development of the companies. Management is a burgeoning field in China, so I hope I can acquire more modern knowledge on management in England. The roots of my strong interest in business can be traced back to my childhood. My father was among the first of China’s new breed of modern entrepreneurs. As a young girl, it was inspirational hearing about his business ventures, and meeting the varied and interesting circle of entrepreneurs. My mother was also involved in business as an accountant, helping him with simple calculations. And so it was early in my life that I hoped I, also, would someday be able to enter the realm of business.
With the time of growing up, I preferred reading books to satisfy my curiosity. I never cead to contemplate over the questions I encountered. Subjects on business and management became a special fascination to me and my knowledge of psychology as well as interest in this field was increasing rapidly.
As a high school student in China, I had to concentrate on the College Entrance Examination (CEE), even so, books not related to the exams were never excluded from my life. Unfortunately when sitting in the exam in June, 20xx, I was so nervous that I didn’t score well in the CEE exam. I enrolled in the department of Computer Science in Zhejiang College of Traditional Chine Medicine. Any attempt to persuade mylf to focus on my major turned out to be a failure at the beginning of my college life. After veral terms, I realized that I would never be interested in being a programmer or an engineer. At that moment, I lost my direction and objectives.
My persistence in reading saved me from the dark situation. As a matter of fact, I enjoyed reading the books included Encyclopedia American, and some books about management by Peter F.Drucker. I began to notice something interesting: Why some companies can produce more than others? Why some company can ll more than others? Why some companies can build up but others cannot when facing the same difficulties?
With the questions in my mind, I started to read many relevant books. I was lucky to read the book “Jack: Straight from the Gut”by Jack Welch, in Which John A. Byrne makes a clear illustration that the management is important for a company. When I was a junior, I ran a bookshop by mylf near my school. I should manage not only the finance in the shop but also the employees in my shop even made some strategies to enlarge the business in my shop to hold on the run the shop. From this, my interpersonal skills and the capacity in business has been greatly developed, definitely I was increasingly interested in what I was doing. By December, 20xx, I had finally determined to take business management as my career instead of IT. To accumulate more relevant knowledge, I strived to gain more practical work experience in some big companies.
Fortunately, as a nior, I began by conducting an internship in the Architecture Company in Zhejiang Province. Over six months, I worked as an assistant of the manager to harmonize the relationship between the different departments in this company and to draft some management system, which broadened my perspective of management conditions and business performance in different industries. The experience showed me that management is much more important than that of I thought in big companies. After graduation, I continued my work in this company. In May, 20xx, the company offered me an opportunity to participate in an training program held by a famous management school. Through in-depth discussions with teachers and students in the class, they all encouraged me to pursue my future career in management field becau of my intellectual ability and the brand new ideas I mentioned.
During the short period of training, I realized that pursuing a higher degree in management is a wi choice for me now. Lancaster, with its excellence in management, reprents the perfect fit for my needs. In your challenging environment, I can build the required foundation of knowledge related to management to achieve my goals. I am firmly convinced that your admission will be my first step of success. With this in mind, I hereby submit my application, and await your favorable reply.
Growing up in a modest village in China, I hardly ever had the chance to e many examples of modern technology; people who dig wells by hand to obtain drinking wateru ox-driven plows to cultivate their fields don’t have much u for televisiopersonal computers. But when my father gave me an old radio to play with, I wanted nothing more than to take apart the contraptione what i ide made such interesting sounds. Sitting on the floor with a confud grin, surrounded by wiresmetal, I looked up at my fatheraskedthe nois were…(有删节)

另外一篇修改过的文章开头用诗一般的语言写道(有删节):
……I first read this paragraphMadame Curie as a 14-year-old child,I still remember how wonderful I felt. I remember thinking, “What esteemed men they were! How hard they worked!” As I grew older, this paragraph became a source of encouragement in the face of adversity. I begin to feel a magical blue light twinkling in my heart, kindling a love of science, encouraging me to charge bravely into the unknown world.
结尾呼应了开头,阐述了作者为什么要去美国读书:
I never forgot my adolescent idol, Maria Curie. As I re-read the book, another pa age leaped out: “She was now 24-an age when some of her great contemporaries were to be on the brink of major discoveries… Maria took the trainWarsaw to Paris, the intellectual Mecca.”
I live in Pakistan-a country destroying itlf with bombs, guns and governments blabber to find justifications for what it is going through;a country where a former president is murdered in public, where the nations constitution and parliament are suspended at the same time, and where the voice of a common man is unheard.
Since the last few years, I had aspired to become a doctor. The idea of "scalpels," "opened chests" and "sutures" had always intrigued me.And then it happened! The recent unprecedented events in my country wiped off the dust of disillusionment from my eyes;I lost my will to become a doctor. However, the turmoil in the country led me towards newspapers and news channels, and hence Politics.
As I involved mylf into politics,I realized that it is all-embracive-wielding its way over social and economic life-it is the omnipotent of Pakistan. It can mobilize public opinion, gear up propaganda machinery, make or repeal laws and what not.Backed up by public opinion, supported by the majority of the legislators, armed with the means to keep the people in a state of ignorance, political power cross the limits of dictatorial powers.Political power, like the most powerful intoxicant, makes the persons in power to forget social ethics, political morality and obligations.
Most of the learned youth in this country consider Politics to be "a refuge for the scoundrels" and this derogatory remark may be true if we look at the deceptive and degenerated type of politicians indulging in a dirty game. All the political parties are votaries of democracy, but the way they conduct themlves inside their own parties is nothing but nless authoritarianism. Therefore a very few students choo to pursue Politics as a profession, but what they dont realize is that if we dont take a stand the system can never be changed. Thus,I want to study Politics so I can come back to my country and contribute what little I can do for my homeland and its people. If I can inspire even a single person,it would be worth it.The world today is growing global. We are now not only to think of our own nation but as and when we think of it,we have to keep the international perception in mind;conquently,I cho Politics with International Relations as one of my cours.
Studying in UK will breed a n of individuality and lf reliance.I would be able to interact with people from everywhere and get to know about their culture. This would not only open new horizons for me,but would also clear some preconceived notions one has about the other.I have always been an active participant of debates.I have participated in 3 Model UN conferences out of which I was awarded with the Best Delegate award in two. I was also one of the two students to be lected from my school to participate in the English Speaking Union 08.Moreover, Ive taken part in Parliamentary style debates too. Therefore I believe I can communicate effectively in public and language will not be a barrier in my education.Furthermore, I have worked as an internee at Al-Shifa Eye Hospital for a month in summers. Here I learnt how to deal with patients,u the Auto Ref, handle files and punctuality. We also campaigned to a remote area near Murree where we helped the doctors in examining the patients free of cost.Another experience which taught me a lot was when me and my fellow colleagues volunteered to paint walls for the SOS Childrens Village. In addition,I worked with SUNGI (NGO) where a group of 5 of us had to organize an event to pay tribute to 1000 Women for the Nobel Peace Prize.
I enjoy Literature, especially the works of Shakespeare,Tennese Williams,Thomas Hardy and Andrew Marvell.Id be delighted to study in a challenging atmosphere where I can focus on my studies.I commit to my work and my ability to think out of the box, keenness for Politics and my perception of things,I understand, gives me an edge over others.I believe in mylf, and if provided with an opportunity,Id make the university proud.
It has come to my attention that our nations, and nations like ours, have long been plagued by a mysterious occurrence. An occurrence that is as perplexing as it is frustrating, and as baffling as it is widespread.
It has come to my attention that our nations, and nations like ours, have long been plagued by a mysterious occurrence. An occurrence that is as perplexing as it is frustrating, and as baffling as it is widespread, a problem that finds its origins at the very foot of our society. The problem of which I speak is none other than “The Orphan Sock Enigma,” the constant disappearance of individual socks during the laundering process. It is a problem familiar to all of us, and also one to which we have unwillingly admitted defeat.
I recently decided that this puzzle had remained unsolved for too long, and resolved to find an explanation. (In the grand tradition of science, I refud to be discouraged by the basic irrelevance of my cau.) But the truth that I uncovered is more shocking and fantastic than I could have ever imagined. My procedures, obrvations, and conclusions are as follows:
First, to verify that the problem exists, experimental and control loads of laundry were completely procesd (put through the washer and dryer). In the xperimental load (load with socks), by the end of the process, some socks were lost. But in the control load (load without socks), no socks were lost. Thus the problem was verified.
Next the progress of a load of socks was carefully monitored. The results indicated that sock disappearance occurs during the period of time when the load is in the dryer. Following this conclusion, a literature arch was done and a very significant fact was uncovered: there is no mention of socks disappearing in dryers before the invention of dryers in the 1920s. All evidence clearly pointed to the dryer. And it is there that I would find the answer to the enigma.
Then, the actual experiment was done. In four parate trials, a number of socks (ten socks, or five pairs) were put through a normal drying cycle. The types of socks tested were lected by the highly accurate Harvey-Allman Principle Hierarchy and Zero Alternative Reduction Dimension.
I was ven years old when I saw the ocean for the first time. My grandmother had invited me to visit her near Okinawa, Japan. I will never forget that encounter—the inten sun, the endless horizon, the infinite shades of blue that dissolved any boundary between sky and waves. And most of all, the cret of the water. Swimming in tho waters was like diving into a kaleidoscope, deceptively plain on the outside, but a show of colors on the inside, waiting to dazzle me, mesmerize me. Tho colors! Coral reefs—pink, green, red, purple—covered the afloor; streaks of sunlight illuminated them, the swaying water creating a dance of hues. And weaving in and out of the contours of coral swam brilliant fish that synchronized every movement with the water, creating one body, one living entity. I longed to join and flow with them to the music of the waves; that’s where I felt I belonged. And leaving was like parting home, not going home.
Five years later, I returned. At first, all emed to match my memory: the crystalline waters and that open horizon with the sun daring to come clor to Earth. But the cond I dove in, I knew my home had vanished…white. That’s all I could e around me: bone-white death. I couldn’t accept it. I kept swimming farther out, hoping to catch even the smallest hint of color. But there was no sign of that brilliant garden I remembered, just fragments of bleached coral. It was like looking down onto the aftermath of a war: a bombed city, with only the crumbles of cement to testify for the great buildings that once stood. But who was the culprit behind this egregious attack?
Though at the age of twelve, I couldn’t even begin to guess, I now know the answer is us. Humans are an impressive species: we have traveled to every continent, adapted to countless environments, and innovated to create comfortable means of living. But in the process, we have stolen the colors from nature all around the globe, just as we did that coral reef. Our trail of white has penetrated the forests, the oceans, the grasslands, and spread like a wild dia. I, too, have left a white footprint, so I have a responsibility to right the wrongs, to repaint tho colors, and to prerve the ones that remain. Some question why I should care. The answer is simple: this planet is my home, my birthplace. And that, in and of itlf, is an inparable bond and a timeless connection. Nature has allowed me my life, so I have no right to deny its life. As Jane Goodall once said, “If we kill off the wild, then we are killing a part of our souls.” This is my soul—our soul. I know that I alone cannot protect this soul, so I will not make a promi that I cannot fulfill. But this promi I will make: I will do what I can do.
