suggest用法

动词suggest有如下一些用法:

一、有“建议”的意思。advi、propo也有此意，请比较它

们用法的异同：

1)都可接名词做宾语

Shesuggested/advid/

suggested/advid/propodavisittothemuumthenextday.

2)都可接动名词做宾语

Isuggested/advid/propodputtingoffthesports

ggested/advid/propodwaitinguntilthe

propertime.

3)都可接that宾语从句，that从句用should+动词原形，should

可以省略。

(should)notbeheldonSaturday.

Wesuggested/advid/propodthathe(should)goandmake

anapologytohisteacher.

4)advi可接动词不定式复合宾语，propo可接不定式做宾语。

Iadvidhimtogiveupthefoolishidea.=I

suggested/propodhis/himgivingupthefoolishidea.

(suggest和propo在口语里可接动名词的复合宾语)。Wepropod

tostartearly.=Wepropodstartingearly.(接不定式不用

suggest和advi)

二、有“提出”的意思。如：Hesuggestedadifferentplan

ngsuggestedawaytosolvetheproblem.

三、有“暗示、表明”的意思，其主语往往是事物，而不是人。

1)接名词或动名词做宾语。

2)接宾语从句，从句用陈述语气。如：

Isuggestedthatsheshouldgohome.我建议她回家去。The

他脸上的表情表明他很生气。四、在主语从句Itissuggested

that…及名词suggestion后面表示具体建议的表语从句、同位语从

句都应用should+动词原形，should可以省略。如：Itwassuggested

thatwe(should)gestion

wasthatthedebts(should)torsmade

asuggestionthatthenewhospital(should)notbetupon

thehill.

使用suggest的用法及使用错点

错点一要表示汉语的“建议做某事”，英语通常用suggestdoing

sth，而不能用suggesttodosth。如：

正：Hesuggestedgoingbyplane,butIthoughtitwouldcost

toomuch.

误：Hesuggestedtogobyplane,butIthoughtitwouldcost

toomuch.

正：TomsuggestedllingthehoubutAnnwasagainstit.

误：TomsuggestedtollthehoubutAnnwasagainstit.

错点二英语习惯上不能说suggestsbtodosth，而说suggest

sb’s[sb]doingsth。也就是说，suggest后不仅不接不定式，而

且也不接不定式的复合结构。如：正：Hesuggestedthatweleave

earlier.误：Hesuggestedustoleaveearlier.

当然，我们也可以用后接that从句的形式来表达此意思(注意

谓语用“should+动词原形”这样的虚拟语气形式)。如：

Isuggestthatwe(should)ests

thatweshouldallgotoethefilm.

正：Hesuggestednotsayinganythingtilltheyheardthe

facts.

正：Hesuggestedsayingnothingaboutittilltheyheard

thefacts.

正：Hesuggestedthattheyshouldn’tsayanythingtillthey

错点三混用其后宾语从句的语气

suggest后接宾语从句时，从谓语既可用陈述语气，也可用虚拟

语气，其区别与suggest所表示的意思有关：

1.若suggest表示“建议”，则其后接的that从句谓语通常

用“(should)+动词原形”这样的虚拟语气形式。如：

gestedthatI

(should)betheleader.

2.若suggest表示“暗示”“意指”“表明”等义，则其后接的

that从句要用陈述语气。如：

suggestingthatI’mnotsuitedforthejob?

错点四其后误接双宾语

要表示向某人提出某情况，suggest后不能接双宾语，即不能用

suggestsbsth，而通常用suggeststhtosb。如：

我向她提出一个解决问题的办法。正：Isuggestedawayout

toher.误：Isuggestedherawayout.

若其中的直接宾语比较复杂(比如是that从句)时，可考虑改用

suggesttosbsth。如：

正：Isuggestedtohimthatweshouldtackletheproblem

anotherway.

误：Isuggestedhimthatweshouldtackletheproblem

anotherway.

错点五当suggestion表示“建议”时，若其后接一个that引导

的宾语从句，则该从句也习惯上要用“should+动词原形”这样的虚

拟语气。如：ThesuggestionthatshopsshouldopenonSundays

ledtoaheateddiscussion.

TherewasasuggestionthatBrownshouldbedroppedfrom

theteam.

1．Suggest表示建议，用法如下：

1)Suggest+名词/代词或suggest+名词/代词to+人，但不能说

suggestsbsth,即不能加双宾做宾语

eg:Wesuggesthimtheplan(Χ)但Wesuggesttheplanto

him(√)

2）suggest+doingsthegHesuggestedgoingoutforawalk.

注意：suggest不可以加不定式，所以上面的句子不可以这样写：

Hesuggestedtogooutforawalk.(Χ)

4suggest+(that)+主语+(should)do+sth其中的should可

以省略

eg:Hesuggestedthatyoushouldgotheretomorrow.=He

suggestedyougotheretomorrow.

注意，不可以这样说：Hesuggestedyoutogotheretomorrow.

也就是说suggest不可以加不定式的复合结构。

5）itissuggestedthat+主语+(should)dostheg:Itis

suggestedthatthework(should)befinishedatonce.

6)suggestion做主语时，其后的表语从句也用这个结构即：The

suggestionisthat+主语+should+dosth

eg:HissuggestionisthatIshouldleaveforBeijing

immediately.

t表示暗示或表明之意，注意此时做主语时后面的表语

从句用陈述语气

eg:Heryawnsuggestedthatshewassleepy.
