TheHeartofthePerfectionofWisdom,theBhagavati

ThushaveIonceheard:

TheBlesdOnewasstayinginRajagrhaatVulturePeakalongwithagreatcommunityof

monksandgreatcommunityofbodhisattvas,andatthattime,theBlesdOnefullyentered

themeditativeconcentrationonthevarietiesofphenomenacalledtheAppearanceofthe

verytimeaswell,holyAvalokitvara,thebodhisattva,thegreatbeing,

beheldthepracticeitlfoftheprofoundperfectionofwisdom,andheevensawthefive

pon,throughtheBuddha'sinspiration,the

venerableSariputraspoketoholyAvalokitvara,thebodhisattva,thegreatbeing,andsaid,

"Anynoblesonwhowishestoengageinthepracticeoftheprofoundperfectionofwisdom

shouldtraininwhatway?"

Whenthishadbeensaid,holyAvalokitvara,thebodhisattva,thegreatbeing,spoketo

venerableSariputraandsaid,"Sariputra,anynoblesonsordaughterswhowishtopractice

theperfectionofwisdomshouldethisway:theyshouldeinsightfully,correctly,and

empty,

emptinessisform,Emptinessisnototherthanform,formisalsonototherthanemptiness.

Likewi,nsation,discrimination,conditioning,way,

Sariputra,allthingsareemptiness;theyarewithoutdefiningcharacteristics;theyarenot

born,theydonotcea,theyarenotdefiled,venoincrea,

theyhavenodecrea.

"Therefore,Sariputra,inemptinessthereisnoform,nonsation,nodiscrimination,no

conditioning,snoeye,noear,nono,notongue,nobody,no

snoform,nosound,nosmell,notaste,notexture,s

noeye-elementandsoonuptonomind-elementandalsouptonoelementofmental

snoignoranceandnoeliminationofignoranceandsoonuptonoaging

,thereisnosuffering,origin,

cessation,orpath;thereisnowisdom,noattainment,andevennonon-attainment.

"Therefore,Sariputra,sincethebodhisattvashavenoobtainments,theyabiderelyingonthe

nodefilementsintheirminds,theyhavenofear,andpassing

completelybeyonderror,,alltheBuddhasabidinginthethree

timesclearlyandcompletelyawakentounexcelled,authentic,andcompleteawakeningin

dependenceupontheperfectionofwisdom.

"Therefore,oneshouldknowthatthemantraoftheperfectionofwisdom-themantraof

greatknowledge,thepreciousmantra,theunexcelledmantra,themantraequaltothe

unequalled,

mantraoftheperfectionofwisdomisproclaimed:

tadyatha-gategateparagateparasamgatebodhisvaha!

Sariputra,abodhisattva,agreatbeing,shouldtrainintheprofoundperfectionofwisdomin

thatway."

Thereupon,theBlesdOnearoforthatmeditativeconcentration,andhecommended

holyAvalokitvara,thebodhisattva,thegreatbeing."Excellent!"hesaid."Excellent!

Excellent!Noblechild,hild,uldpracticethe

profoundperfectionofwisdominthemannerthatyouhaverevealed-theTathagatas

rejoice!"ThisiswhattheBlesdOnesaid.

Thereupon,thevenerableSariputra,theholyAvalokitvara,thebodhisattva,thegreat

being,andthatentireasmblyalongwiththeworldofgods,humans,asuras,and

gandharvas,allrejoicedandhighlypraidwhattheBlesdOnehadsaid.
