译者介绍

张炳星，1915年生于湖南省邵阳县。1940年毕业于清华大学外国语文系。曾在缅甸任中国银行运输处秘书，在印度任美国训练中心少校译员及英国经济作战部译员，在湖南省邵阳县任联合国善后救济总署乡村工业示范处处长助理。1950年获美国内布拉斯加大学农业经济系硕士学位。新中国成立后在山西省历任农业厅工程师，农科院科技情报研究所研究员、学术顾问，山西省农业经济学会副理事长。退休后被中共山西省委及山西省政府授予离退休干部先进个人。多年来从事农业科技及农业经济的研究和翻译工作，发表大量论文、译著（包括诗词名著），为大型工县书《英汉辞海》的主要编译及审核人员、《中国农业百科全书》编撰人之一。

The Sorrow of Separation by Qu Yuan(340-278BC)

Ⅰ.（1）The poet describes his family background, birthday, name, and his lf-cultivation of morals and abilities in order to assist the Emperor of the Chu state to carry out political reform and make his country rich and strong.

帝高阳之苗裔兮，

I am the descendant of the ancient emperor

朕皇考曰伯庸。

Gao-yang. My decead father is called Baiyong.I

摄提贞于孟陬兮，

was born in January,340B.C..Having carefully

惟庚寅吾以降。

considered my birthday, my father gave me a fine

皇览揆余初度兮，

name called Zhengze and a literary name of Linjun.

肇锡余以嘉名：

Nature has has endowed me many good qualities.

名余曰正则兮，

I have also diligently cultivated my moral

字余曰灵均。
