DuringtheWorldWarI,althoughremainedfirstininternationaltrade,theUKeconomybegantodecline.InWorldWarIIitwashitmoreriouslythaninWorldWarI.TheproportionofworldtradevolumeswaxceededbyAmerica.
In1979,ConrvativePartycameintopowerandadoptedariesofdeflationpolicy,thentheeconomygraduallybouncedback.Afterthe1990s,economicgrowthsloweddown,inflationabated,andtheeconomymaintainedsteadygrowth.
