OneofitsoldestlineofbusinessisGELighting,whichproducesover30,000differentkindsoflightbulbsinits28NorthAmericanplantsandotherlocationsaroundtheworld.
Therawmaterialsudinmakinglightbulbsarefairlystandarditems:glass,aluminum,variousinsulatingplastics,andfilamentmaterials.However,amajorportionofeachlightbulb'scostisthemoneythatGELightingspendsonindirectmaterialsandpartsforthemachinesudtofabricateandasmblethebulbs.
